I’m starting a very small list:

International Standards Organization (ISO) / International Socialist Organization (ISO)

International Federation of National Standardizing Associations (ISA) / Ideological State Apparatus (ISA)

It’s like “separated at birth” but much, much nerdier.

  1. I’ll be even nerdier by pointing out that the International Organization for Standardization (Organisation internationale de normalisation) chose “ISO” as the language-neutral short form of its name based on the Greek ἴσος (isos), meaning equal.
