Since last year’s collapse in Laval, there have been ongoing public inquiries in Quebec. Now that it’s happened in my other home state, I’m inclined to think that maybe North America’s aging infrastructure is hitting a tipping point.

I’m a bit angry that funding for repairs and infrastructure were not approved in the last Minnesota legislative session, because we have roads and bridges that badly need repair and upgrade, not to mention the need for Lite Rail and better mass transit. The governor vetoed a raise in the gasoline tax this spring, which would have helped fund bridge repair. He’ll probably get some heat from that. Sort of late for that now. Judy Andersen
